No one denies that Yogyakarta is one of regions in Indonesia with a host of stunning places to visit. Not only the beaches which are stunning, but also the temples, villages, and others. Hence, it is recommended for you to drop by the city if you happen to have a visit in Indonesia. For those who love watching sunset, give it a try to visit Ratu Boko temple in Yogyakarta. Why so?
Ratu Boko is located at Sleman regency, Yogyakarta, approxiamtely 17 km away from Yogyakarta. If it's your first time coming to Yogyakarta, I recommend you to take a tour which can be easily found on the internet. lol. Well, seriously, everything can be easily found here on the internet. Usually, tour travels will make it as a package. I mean, a travel package to visit Prambanan and Boko temple. The tour travel will make you an itinerary so that it's much easier for those who have no idea how to reach the place. Plus, there will be several options to choose to fit your preferences. Pick the package, complete the payment, and tadaaaa all you left to do is enjoy the tour!
As for me, I obviously did not take a tour package or that sort of thing! I went there by motorcycle. Yap. It took around about an hour from my bed-site (which is at Kentungan, err, well, not a matter) to reach the place. Since I did not really know where it is exactly , I happen to ask people to reach the place :D Ahya, if you plan on staying for days here, you can also rent a car or even a motorcycle to go around the city, and visit Ratu Boko for sure.
Another option to reach the place is by public transportation. Well, it's an option for those who don't wanna take either the tour package or renting a motorcycle. From Yogyakarta, you can take Trans Jogja (public bus) route 1A and 1B then stop at Prambanan bus shelter. Next, take ojek (motorcycle cab) to get you from Prambanan to Ratu Boko. Seriously, I've never gone there by Trans Jogja so I get nothing more to say about it >.< Keke ~

here's one of pictures I took there :) |
Now, lemme tell you about the admission or the entrance fee. The entrance fee is IDR 25K for domestic tourists, as for foreigners, it will around about $13. That excludes the parking fee in case you bring your own vehicle.
The best time to visit the Ratu Boko temple is in the afternoon, of course, so that you can enjoy the sunset. If you also love visiting and enjoying ancient ruins, make sure to spare your time exploring the place. Well, me myself enjoyed walking around the temple while waiting for the sunset. Such an enjoyable and refreshing doing, certainly.

as the sun sets, it's the best to take some time doing nothing but enjoying the view :) |
Plus,,,,, lastly, just wanna give you tips. It's recommended to wear casual outfit and sneakers or flat shoes when you visit Ratu Boko temple. Well, many stairs you have to take to get the place where I took the picture above. And, it's quite far to reach the place from the entrance. So, it's definitely the best to wear sneakers or any comfortable flat shoes. Want me to tell something? When I was there, I saw a girl wearing short skirt and high heels (!!!!!!). The problem is not on the skirt (wearing skirt is okay, i did it) but the high heels. I have to say this, she obviously looks uncomfortable on her heels. Maybe she had no idea about the place. You know, it's just what I saw and just, er,, I just wanted to give you a tip :D *random
But, hey, travelling is so much fun with sneakers. Sorry, random ._.
